Get with the Program-the Money Saving Program with a Programmable Thermostat.

One of the easiest ways to save up to $180 a year on average is to install and properly use a programmable thermostat. Programmable thermostats allow you to pre-set your thermostat to raise and lower the temperature in your home at specific times of the day without you having to be there to do it manually. It’s much more effective than trying to remember each morning and evening to reset it yourself.
Exactly what temperature should you set your thermostat to? The Energy Star website provides these handy guidelines. In the summer you should wake to 78 degrees and set it to rise at least 7 degrees while you’re gone during the day. Then have it return to 78 by 6:00 and raise it again to be 4 degrees higher when you’re sleeping. In winter, you can set it for 70 degrees when you wake up, raise it 8 degrees while gone, returning to 70 degrees at 6:00 then down 8 degrees again while you’re asleep. You can adjust these numbers to suit yourself and your family, but that’s at least a starting point to shoot for.
If you have a programmable thermostat, follow these guidelines and watch your energy bill shrink. If you need one installed, give us a call and we’ll be there in a flash to install it, help you program it and get you saving money as soon as possible. Call us at 800-657-2158.

Does Your Spring Cleaning Include Duct Cleaning? It Should.

It seems like spring is the time that most homeowners do their deep cleaning-disinfecting, deodorizing, window cleaning and more. But have you had your ducts cleaned? Duct work can house all kinds of unhealthy things like dust, pollen, animal dander, dust mites, and sometimes even mold. But the worst part is that when your air conditioner or furnace turns on, all of those items get blown throughout your home.
If you or any other family members are experiencing itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, stuffy noses, or headaches it may be more than allergies to outdoor irritants. They could be reacting to irritants inside your home. You should have your duct work cleaned every spring. If anyone in your family has allergies, or if you’ve had any remodeling done recently creating drywall dust and other airborne particles, you can benefit greatly from duct cleaning.

Give your Air Conditioner a Pre-Season Test Run Today and Beat the Repair Crowds

Here’s a tip we like to give all of our customers-test your air conditioner before it gets hot. That way, if there is a problem, you can get if fixed right away. It doesn’t take much to stay ahead of the curve. All you have to do is think ahead of the curve. Have you turned your AC on yet this year? Probably not because it hasn’t gotten hot yet. Most people wait until the first unbearable day and then they turn their air conditioner on. Unfortunately, because everyone is doing the exact same thing at the exact same time, we get inundated with repair calls. We do our best to get to everyone quickly, but sometimes, we just get overwhelmed by the demand all at once.

So this year, don’t wait. We don’t want any of our customers to have to wait for air conditioner repair services in the sweltering heat. Turn your air conditioner on for just a short while when there’s a mild day. Check to make sure it is running, blowing cool air and not making any funny sounds. If it is, give us a call. You can also save $25 off your service call with our coupon click here. If not, you’ll be able to rest assured that your system will be keeping you cool when that first scorching summer day finally hits.
